~~~ Hip and Mousie ~~~
There was a hipp-o-pot-a-mouse,
Who lived inside a purple house,
Who's best friend was a little mouse,
They nightly dined on boiled grouse.
Then one day they dined on chook,
That made them both feel very crook,
The Vet he came to have a look,
And found a cure in his book.
Hip and mouse got very better,
So the sent the Vet a letter,
Telling him they bought a setter,
And dressed it in a yellow sweater.
That dog he was a great delight,
Guarding hip and mouse at night,
Until he got a scary fright,
And flew away upon a kite.
Hip and mouse were so upset,
They never got another pet,
They went a bought a jumbo jet,
And put themselves in shocking debt.
Hippo had to learn to fly,
That jumbo jet across the sky,
Then learn to fly it really high,
While mousie ate a pumpkin pie.
But! They had to give that jet away,
'Cos all their bills they could not pay,
They took up molding lumps of clay
And finding silly games to play.
Hip and mouse they stayed together,
In the cold and warmer weather,
Making belts from chickens leather,
And promised to stay home forever.
