~~~ Wishing Wells ~~~
I wish I were a wishing-well
To hear what others wish,
I wish I were a wishing-well
Complete with golden fish.
For if I were a wishing-well
I know what I would do,
I'd try to grant those wishes
That come from me and you.
A penny for a little wish
That would be my fee,
And if it were a tiny wish
I'd grant that wish for free.
But! If it were a great big wish
You asked from pure greed,
I'd never grant a wish like that
No matter how you plead.
Because, wishes they are special
That, should come from your heart,
And you should wish them wisely
Or your wish will never start.
Wishes are the basis
Of all our hopes and dreams,
Some times we cannot see this
Well, that is what it seems.
We live our life from day to day
And at times we cannot cope,
But those wishes that we wish inside
Seem to bring us hope.
So, when we see a whishing-well
In a park inside a town,
Go and make that wish you wish
With a penny or a crown.
Make that wish you wish to wish
With your eyes closed really tight,
And keep that wish unto yourself
And your wish will be all right.
But, if you tell for what you wished
To others that are near,
That wish you wished will fade away
It will simply disappear.
So keep those wishes to yourself
And never, never tell,
And always make that wish you wish
At a wishing-well.
