 1. "Peace upon earth!" was said. We sing it And pay a million priests to bring it. After two thousand years of mass We've got as far as poison-gas.

 2. A peace is of the nature of a conquest; for then both parties nobly are subdued, and neither party loser.

 3. A peace may be so wretched as not to be ill exchanged for war.

 4. An unjust peace is better than a just war.

 5. Better than a thousand useless words is one single word that gives peace. Better than a thousand useless verses is one single verse that gives peace. Better than a hundred useless poems is one single poem that gives peace.

 6. Buried was the bloody hatchet; Buried were all warlike weapons, And the war-cry was forgotten. Then was peace among the nations.

 7. Cultivate peace first in the garden of your heart by removing the weeds of lust, hatred, greed, selfishness, and jealousy. Then only you can manifest it externally. Then only, those who come in contact with you, will be benefited by your vibrations of peace and harmony.

 8. Even peace be may purchased at too high a price.

 9. Everything is changeable, everything appears and disappears; there is no blissful peace until one passes beyond the agony of life and death.

10. Fair peace becomes men; ferocious anger belongs to beasts.

23. Peace - A period of cheating between two periods of fighting.

24. Peace can be reached through meditation on the knowledge which dreams give. Peace can also be reached through concentration upon that which is dearest to the heart.

25. Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.

41. The alternative to peace is not war. It is annihilation.

42. The excellence of good temper is that you offend no one and that you endure other people's annoyance without rancour or seeking retaliation.

43. The man who consecrates his hours by vigorous effort, and an honest aim, at once he draws the sting of life and Death; he walks with nature; and her paths are peace.

44. The most disadvantageous peace is better than the most just war.

45. The pursuit, even of the best things, ought to be calm and tranquil.

46. The self-controlled soul, who moves amongst sense objects, free from either attachment or repulsion, he wins eternal Peace.

47. The wise should surrender speech in mind, mind in the knowing self, the knowing self in the Spirit of the universe, and the Spirit of the universe in the Spirit of peace.

48. There is nothing so likely to produce peace as to be well prepared to meet the enemy.

49. To be satisfied with a little, is the greatest wisdom; and he that increaseth his riches, increaseth his cares; but a contented mind is a hidden treasure, and trouble findeth it not.

50. Vast and fearsome as the human scene has become, personal contact of the right people, in the right places, at the right time, may yet have a potent and valuable part to play in the cause of peace which is in our hearts.

51. Whatever foster militarism makes for barbarism; whatever fosters peace makes for civilization.

52. When the mind is possessed of reality, it feels tranquil and joyous even without music or song, and it produces a pure fragrance even without incense or tea.

53. You may either win your peace or buy it; win it by resistance to evil; buy it by compromise with evil.
