William Henry Ogilvie
Drover ~ Horse-Breaker ~ Poet ~~~I869-I963~~~


William Henry Ogilvie, was born at Kelso, Scotland; he came to Australia in 1889, and returned to Scotland in 19O1.

In Australia he was a drover, horse-breaker, and bush worker

He was a great mate of Harry "Breaker" Morant, Will and Harry broke horses together before Will returned to Scotland.

Will OgilvieHe was the author of many books of verse including

Fair Girls and Gray Horses (1898 and 1958);
Hearts of Gold (1903);
The Australian (19I6);
From Sunset to Dawn (1946);
Saddle for a Throne (1952).
